Casual Venice crowd flocks well into the wee hours for standard Mexican fare and killer margaritas.
Since 1963, La Cabana in Venice has been serving great Mexican food. A little senorita pats out thick tortillas by hand on a brick-layered fireplace and a festive strolling guitar trio takes you back to pueblos of Mexico. There's a colorful outdoor patio where you can wash down chips and salsa picosa with over 18 varieties of margaritas. La Cabana serves monster burritos and sopes made fresh from the tortilla comal. The Chile Rellenos are to die for and they have an excellent Carne Adobada (pork steak marinated in a smokey chile ancho and pasilla sauce).

For a business that has been around for so long, I don't understand why. Ordered what should be one of the tastiest diners, the carnitas plate. It was a complete mis-mash of pork pieces. A few soft pieces mixed in with ... (more)

I was taken here on a date and was pleasantly surprised. The place does not look so pretty from the outside, but once you walk in you get warmly greeted by the ladies at the door. We went on a Tuesday night and it seemed ... (more)
