What is "Scrap"?

by Dorothy C. Morrison of Morrison's Scrap Metal Removal, LLC (1-Jun-2009)

The old adage "one man's junk is another man's treasure" can be applied to scrap. Contractors remodel homes, plumbers replace fixtures, electricians wire homes and businesses, landowners have unwanted machinery. The list could go on forever. The by-products created from an improvement is referred to as "scrap."

Scrap can be discarded in a number of ways. The must popular are to "do nothing," or use a landfill. If not disposed of, scrap can become an eyesore on the landscape and could have the potential of becoming an environmental issue. Over time, the landfills run out of space; creating even more problems.

A better solution would be to seek out your local scrap metal company. This solution is a win win for everyone. Think scrap, think junk, think environment, think best way to get rid of.
