le' junque crisis... |
| Our civilization is in a 'stuff' crisis: making it, to buy it or not buy it, where to put it when we have it, what to do with it when we're done with it, how to dispose of it. It's a quandry. I try to imagine life, my client's lives, my life, without the things we accumulate. Like a Zen Koan: "What is the world without STUFF?" Over the past 10 years I have worked with many individuals in many different situations, all revolving around their changing lives and how to manage their stuff to accomodate and enhance their change. One thing that I always have to remember is that 'it' is not logical. Entering another person's environment playing the Judge is not how I make a difference for them. My left brained self is not my right brained client. I make a difference by immersing myself in the way they think as I go through their space, moving things, sorting, organizing, tossing, pricing, packing, unpacking, arranging, beautifying, improving. I learn who they are and in that, how to make it all work better, based on who I understand them to be. At the end IT makes sense and I have a successful project. It's transformative for me, not only my clients. Sometimes all they need is help to get them started and guide them through the process. Others need the entire physical process done for them. That's just part of what I do. If you would like to join in this conversation, please share your thoughts on my blog. Missiontransition blog Life Changes:We Handle the Details!
