I am a firm believer in privacy and anonymity when I'm shopping online. I personally do not want to get follow-up phone calls and emails based on my online purchase. I especially do not want repeat charges on my credit card.
How do I avoid this? I always look at terms and agreements in detail, as this is the "fine print" on every online agreement I make. For a new business, just starting out, I feel it is extremely important that terms and agreements are expressed clearly and right away.
It's my opinion that shopping online should be 100% the same as, if not better than, shopping at a physical store. I look for better prices, better quality, better quantity, and certainly better service than I'd get at retail stores. I also look for refund and return policies.
When you have found that kind of service online, you have struck gold! Stick with those honest hard-working sites, and watch out for the schemers!
