NOW THAT THE HOUSE IS BUILT...BUILD YOUR BACKYARD!

by T. RAY GREER of GREER CONCRETE (1-Aug-2008)

Building a house begins with an idea, then a formal plan.  Just include some concrete, wood, drywall, wiring, plumbing, insulation, doors, paint, roofing and etc. and soon you will be able to enjoy the completion of a new house.  Oh, I really need to also include some permits which follow inspections that must be approved. If all goes well this process officially creates what we call a house.

I think we all understand that houses are not just meant to be houses. But houses are really intended to become homes.  With this being the case, I think that the patio of any house is the area where homes are created.  The patio area is the place where families can come together for recreation, dining, and enjoying nature.

If any homebuilder neglects the value of a spacious patio, subsequently the builder has already neglected the family.  Patio comes from a Spanish word that means a back garden.
