We somehow lose contact with our friends and family over time. Whether intentionally or not. Unfortunately, this is the way it is. People are busy whether its working at a full time job, raising a family, caring for the elderly, etc. We lose touch with those around us. We are too busy to call, visit, write a note and we figure that email is a quick and easy avenue to solve the problem of communication. I myself, am to blame, but I try my hardest to avoid sending email cards to my family and friends when there is a Birthday or Anniversary or some other big occasion. I also try to call frequently or to send handwritten notes. That personal touch has disappeared and that is keeping the "lines" open to each other…………to be more personable…….to have that close contact with those around us. It is wonderful to receive a handwritten note or letter in your mailbox, perhaps enclosing a photo of a relative, a picture of a new grandchild, or something else. Taking the time to call or write …..it’s more of an effort on our part, but oh so rewarding.
