HELPING QUALIFIED FILIPINO NURSES QUALIFY FOR AUSTRALIA

by John Wright of FILNURSE AUSTRALIA (2-Apr-2010)

John Wright from Diamantina Placements has teamed up with a friend from the Philippines to set up a website to help qualified Filipino nurses fight their way through the maze of paperwork required to register to the strict Australian Nursing Standards. Only after tentative registration is granted, can the applicant seek employment in Australia. Neither person is a migration agent or lawyer so neither can offer advice about migration affairs.

The site address is www.filnurseaustralia.com The site is a free service although there is an e-book available to assist and offset some of the costs involved in operating the site.  Australia as it seems has some of the strictest rules in the world in becoming a nurse. There tends to be few problems if a Filipino nurse has recent experience in the USA, Britain, Ireland, New Zealand or Canada and seeks registration in New South Wales. Australia accepts the qualifications of those countries. One of the main requirements is that an applicant must have 12 years of primary and secondary education. The United States, Canada, Ireland, England, New Zealand and Australia, all English speaking countries, have combined 12 years of Primary and Secondary education. The Filipino education system has only 10 years of Primary and Secondary education. John says, ?We must overcome the education hurdle first. There are other options and each applicant is evaluated on his or her qualifications and experience and sometimes the university they attended.? Many Universities and Nursing Colleges have no web site and no information readily available so they have a credibility problem to start with. Therefore, what John has to do is find Nurses that have extra qualifications, after their Filipino Nursing Degree and Licensure Board examination. Overseas experience is an advantage if there is proof of this, along with local experience and extra qualifications. John went on to also say, ?The whole idea is to get all the necessary paperwork together and see if that person qualifies. There is not much point in paying $105AUD for an application fee to become a registered nurse if that person lacks the qualifications. It is a waste of money? John or one of his assistants will be very happy to assist in answering any questions that any Filipino nurse might have via the site.  YOU CAN BE ANYTHING YOU WANT TO BE TODAY. www.filnurseaustralia.com
