Fish-finder Transducer; Read Your Boat Warranty Before You Drill

Mounting a transom-mounted transducer seems to come with multitudes of inherent issues. The web is littered with 10's of thousands of justified concerns and problems and we have experienced many, if not all, of them ourselves. Embarrassingly enough, we always placed the blame on the equipment. Properly adjusting a transducer to gain the "ultimate" signal is aggravating at best. Locating the perfect spot can be daunting, even with well-written instructions provided by it's manufacturer. Drilling those screw-holes is unnerving to most and many just won't do it. Their trepidation is far from unfounded. In fact, most boat owners are unaware and naive to the consequences associated with drilling that first hole below the waterline. Sealed screw-holes or not , we do the best that we can because this is what we have to work with. Leaks can go unnoticed and the intrusion of water can be devastating. Water weight, delamination, stringer separation from freezing, and those proverbial "soft spots"...water is stealthy, deliberate and always causes damage. A 100% composite-built boat is just as vulnerable as the next. And what many fail to realize is that the liabilities your boat warranty and your boat insurance is so careful to outline are placed in serious jeopardy.

Our electronics are important to us. We must have them. They are exciting, ever changing, highly technical and the makers of them are the best in the world. But, we still have a need to mount them correctly and effectively, allow the freedom to adjust them properly and to change our equipment while preserving the integrity of our boats. So, we developed a unique system designed to solve the problem about how we mount our transducer equipment....yes, regardless of its maker.
