Does Jewelry have to be expensive to be precious?

In this day when we run out of money before we've run out of need, there are many wonderful gifts we can still give without spending a fortune. Jewelry today is thought of in terms of carats.  There is so much more than this.  It's time to take a look at mother earth and see the riches she's produced other than diamonds.

Consider the rich splendor of  your semi precious stones such as Lapis Lazuli.  Years ago, and continents ago, this warm, rich blue stone was used as coin in several civilizations.  It's deep blue glow, has a luxurious wealth of gold, and reds, and at times yellows, and greens, running delicately through it, making this stone perfect when set with sterling silver, copper, or gold.  The pieces one can design with this stone are endless.

Then there's the understated, Tourmaline, encompassing vast hues, which range from smoky black to the lightest amber.  On your arm, in your ears, around your neck, these grab attention, as they should, they're alive in their splendor.

We all love pearls, but have you entertained fresh water beauties around your neck?  They're inexpensive in price only, and come in a multitude of shapes and colors.

Coral, Jade and Turquoise speak wonders to the natural beauty in one's own skin tones and emphasize your individuality, much like snow-flakes, no two designs the same.

Take another look at something affordable price-wise, that is bountiful in majesty, feel the stone's presence and appreciate these gifts earth has given us to enjoy, take Jasper to lunch, Agate to dinner.  Feel just as queenly in Amethyst as any monarch or icon in diamonds.  The vast shades of purple, from Plum to Lilac , is Royal.   Look at your semi-precious stones again in wonder!
