It doesn't matter who's home you go into, or some offices, if there's a couch or an armchair .... there WILL be a pillow sitting on it!
Now maybe you didn't actually notice it at first, but when you sit down ... if there isn't one you will either notice then or just feel like something is missing. A couch can be very comfortable or uncomfortable but ALL will sit better if there's a pillow. If you are short, you might need TWO to be comfortable!
Have you also noticed that when a person sits down on a couch, there's a good chance they will actually HOLD the pillow on their lap ... giving it a little hug! Yes, a pillow may not be noticed when it's there but, believe me, it WILL be noticed if it's not! Now the decorator or designer in you will be looking for the pillow as soon as they see the couch. Does the color match or contract? Do they add something to the couch? Do they enhance the decor of the whole room?
A pillow in a space has a BIG role to play ... comfort and support (both physical and emotional) and making a decorating statement that can make or break your room's design.
