If you have ever dreamed of buying a yacht but are reluctant to pay the new price, consider purchasing a used yacht instead. You can enjoy cruising the shores of tropical islands, feeling totally free as you relax in solitude under the starry sky, and witnessing the most dramatic sunsets on planet Earth. In addition, you can choose to live aboard and cruise your used motoryacht, trawler or sailboat for months or even years at a time!

One of the major advantages of purchasing a used yacht is that most have been outfitted with new equipment, interiors, or accessories. Certainly, there is a specific feeling of excitement when you take a new boat out onto the water for the first time, but the adrenaline quickly diminishes when you realize you have to outfit it as well.  It is a relief to find a used boat that has been properly cared for, adequately outfitted, restored, or renovated.

Many individuals who buy a used yacht find that their new purchase has an exotic past, has had exciting ocean experiences, and have been to innumerable destinations. In a variety of ways, buying a yacht with a colorful past is like purchasing an old house which can be restored and renovated to its former beauty and glory. Since most yachts are built with sturdy construction, they are intended to last a lifetime. Investing in a used motoryacht, used sailboat, or used trawler is not foolish or dangerous. In fact, doing so can be a wise decision!

If you are considering the purchase of a used yacht, you will want to consult the Boat Buyers Guide for determining reasonable price ranges. Individuals who choose to sell their yacht may use also the boat buyers guide to help them set a fair sale price.
