Many people begin to feel aches and pains after they finish their education and begin a more sedentary routine at the workplace.  Below are some tips that may help alleviate the aches and pains that you feel on a daily basis and help you back on the road to feeling good again.

Tip 1.  Your phone setup.  When speaking on the phone, make sure you don't tilt your head to one side and stay in one position for too long.  Either a headset or speakerphone is highly recommended for frequent users.

Tip 2.  Your chair.  Make sure your feet are resting on something so that your knees are slightly elevated above your hips.

Tip 3. Lumbar support:  If your chair doesn't have built in lumbar support, it is crucial to add a lumbar support pillow to your chair.  Check with your HR department or if you they are not willing to provide one, consider purchasing your own.  They are a low cost investment in a place you spend lots of time.

4.  Movement:  Get up and move, walk, take the stairs, park farther away in the lot.  The human body was not designed to sit for the majority of the day, we are designed for movement.  It is important to add as much movement to your day as possible

5. Stretch:  Stretching your neck, your low back and the muscles of your legs front and back is extremely important to keeping mobility where stiffness starts to settle in.

6. Eating right.  Believe it!  Your diet plays a role in how you feel so don't just chug away at coffee and donuts all day and wonder why you feel stressed and low in energy.  Eat fruits, vegetables, lots of water and low fat healthy foods.

7.  Speak to a specialist.  Unlike traditional medical doctors a chiropractor can help you relieve the aches and pains of workplace sedentary lifestyle without drugs and surgery.  A natural alternative health care system, chiropractic has been around since the early 1900's and is the most popular alternative health care provider in the world.
